Infrared Light for Skin Tightening (ST)

ST uses controlled infrared light pulses, which have a longer wavelength than either the LED or HEFL lights. This longer wavelength allows the ST light to passes through the epidermis, the surface layer of the skin, and into the very deep layers of the skin, including the dermis and hypodermis. Here, the ST light energy is selectively absorbed by the skin, causing contraction of tissues and firming of the skin. Skin texture is improved and fine lines and wrinkles are diminished. A side benefit of the absorption of this light is that collagen production is also stimulated. As with the other CSL treatments based on other components of the light spectrum, no “red face” is produced and recovery is immediate. In fact, many clients notice a tighter feeling to their skin immediately following treatment. The skin tightening is based on restoring contraction to sagging tissue. Therefore it produces a naturally firm and healthy look, not the artificially tight appearance which can, at times, result from plastic surgery face lifts.
